WASHINGTON -- Rep. Jim Leach, R-Iowa, Tuesday questioned the assertions of President Clinton and his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, that they lost $69,000 in their Arkansas land deal, but the White House provided new details Tuesday night to back up its version.
At a breakfast meeting with reporters in Washington, Leach took issue with repeated assertions by the Clintons that they have lost as much as $69,000 on the Whitewater Development Co., which attempted to develop vacation homes in the Ozarks in the 1980s.
